Fundamentals in Research Methods - or FIRM - is designed to teach students about the research process and to apply that research to their own project. In their junior year, students choose from a list of faculty-proposed science fair projects or propose one of their own. Students are assigned to a faculty member who will guide them through the process. In their senior year, students continue to develop their research methods and applications, carry out their experiment and ready themselves for the presentations of their projects at the Science Fair.
