Donor Recognition

As good stewards of our mission at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, we believe in the importance of recognizing and honoring our most generous and loyal benefactors. Every year, we pay tribute to those who have helped make a difference in the ASMSA community. Members have provided support and visionary leadership as they helped build a base for the future of ASMSA.

There are three ASMSA Gifting Societies that honor broad levels of donor recognition: The Founder's Society, the Society of '93 and the Arbor Donum Society. Naming opportunities for certain gifts are also available.

Donor Recognition

Founder's Society

The Founder's Society is the most prestigious roll of ASMSA contributors. The society includes contributors who make significant major contributions for either endowments or capital projects. Contributor’s donations often support large and sometimes immediate needs.

A contributor may be considered for membership into the Founder's Society by one of the following:

  • Single contribution of at least $50,000.
  • 5-year pledge of at least $10,000/year.
  • Contribution greater than 50% of the cost of the capital project.
  • Paid-up life insurance assignment of more than $100,000 value.
  • Charitable Remainder Trust (or annuity) assignment of more than $100,000 value.

Society of '93

The Society of ’93 is the base of ASMSA Foundation's annual giving program and has two specific goals: providing unrestricted funds for the needs of ASMSA and increasing public awareness of the institution. This is the Foundation Fund's preferred designation for annual gifts and is available to individuals, foundations and corporations. Supporters will be recognized each year they achieve $1,993 in annual donations.

Arbor Donum Society

The Arbor Donum Society recognizes supporters (individuals, foundations and corporations) who have made a financial commitment to the long-term success of ASMSA through lifetime cumulative gifts of $10,000 or more.

A contributor may be considered for membership into the Arbor Donum Society by one of the following:

  • Lifetime cumulative donations of at least $10,000
  • Contribution of a Major Gift

Naming Opportunities

A major donor may give a gift that qualifies the donor to name a particular fund, building or program. The Foundation Fund Advisory Board in conjunction with the Director of ASMSA sets minimum gift level amounts and establishes approved guidelines for gift naming opportunities.  As a general rule, a singular donor must contribute fifty percent (50%) of the total cost of a capital project, program, or endowed fund in order to secure naming rights. The Director reserves the right to allow a donor to name a building or endowed fund for a contribution less than fifty percent (50%) of the total. All naming opportunities must meet the requirements established by the University of Arkansas System.
