The ASMSA Library Staff is here to help you locate and use library materials and equipment. Please feel free to ask them for any help doing research or using the library's resources. They are also responsible for maintaining a studious atmosphere in the library. Please cooperate with them.

The Library is also staffed by volunteers from time to time. Volunteers are from the local community. The impression you make on them influences the community's opinion of ASMSA, so please be courteous.

GENERAL LIBRARY RULES

  1. The library is a STUDY AREA. Please work and talk quietly for the consideration of others.
  2. Only four people to a table for group work. If you have more than four, you need to go to a study room.
  3. Group work on computers should be limited to three people. You should use the computers nearest the wall or at the back of the library.
  4. Drinks are allowed at study desks in the library as long as they are in spill-proof containers with lids. No drinks are allowed near the computers. Absolutely no food is allowed in the library. Please clean up after yourself!
  5. No online chatting, game-playing, or emailing during study hours.
  6. During other library hours, computer use priorities are as follows:
    • A. Schoolwork (research, projects, papers, group worl, etc.)
    • B. Email related to schoolwork
    • C. Emailing, chatting, game-playing (During busy hours, we reserve the right to ask you to forfeit your machine to a student who needs it for schoolwork

LIBRARY MATERIALS AND DATABASES

The Library has a large collection of materials, including fiction, non-fiction, books-on-tape, encyclopedias, and indexes to assist you in your research. We also have copies of past science fair, math, and senior year projects.

The library subscribes to many online databases through the Arkansas State Library and through school purchases. A list of databases and necessary passwords can be picked up at the circulation desk. These databases can be accessed from computers in the library and campus classrooms, from your room on campus and from your home computer.
