Science Fair winners announced

ASMSA held its annual Science Fair and Senior Research Symposium (SRS) March 2-4. All seniors must complete a Science Fair or SRS project as part of their graduation requirements. In addition to being judged on their projects, the students participated in a Junior Academy competition, which is a 10-minute oral presentation about their projects.

 

The SRS categories include arts and literature, political science/government, history, and social sciences.

 

Science Fair categories included animal science, behavioral and social sciences, cellular and molecular biology, chemistry and biochemistry, computer science, earth science, energy and transportation, engineering, environmental sciences, mathematics, medicine and health, microbiology, physics and astronomy and plant sciences.

Students who placed first, second or third in the Science Fair will advance to the state Science Fair, April 2 in Conway. The top two winners, Arnab Dey of White Hall and Devika Mehta of Conway, will win an all-expense paid trip to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair May 8-13 in Los Angeles, Calif.
