Lee, Acello selected to participate in All-State Music Conference

Two students from Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts have been selected to participate in the All-State Music Conference, Feb. 16-19 at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

Senior Shinae Lee was named concertmaster for the 2011 Arkansas All-State Orchestra. She placed 1st chair, first violin at auditions in Conway on Feb. 14. The All-State Orchestra will present a concert at 11 a.m. Saturday in the arena at the convention center. Lee is the daughter of Kwang Yup Lee and Young Hee Park of Little Rock.

Senior Lexi Acello made 32nd chair, alto 1 at the auditions. She will perform with the All-State female chorus, which will present a concert at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Hall A at the convention center. Acello was also a featured soloist in David Brubeck’s “Music for Peace” concert held Feb. 6 in Hot Springs. She is the daughter of Brian and Cyndi Acello of Clarksville.

The All-State Music Conference concerts are free and open to the public.
