Science Fair Week Schedule
Tuesday, March 14th
- 9:00 to 12:00 Prepare Chapel, move tables, etc. - Juniors free 6th or 7th period can assist and earn 10 bonus points for FIRM.
- 1:00 to 3:00 pm: Set up projects in Chapel. You must present a completed checklist to set up your project
Wednesday, March 15th
- 8:30 to 9:00 Judges meeting - Chapel
- 9:00 to 12:00 Junior film festival
- 9:00 to 11:30 Judges view projects without students present
- 11:30 to 12:30 Judges luncheon - Red Room
- 1:00 to 3:00 Judges interviews -
Chapel. Be at your project by 12:50. Professional dress required.
Remain at your project until dismmised by Dr. Monson. Professional dress required.
- 1:00 to 5:00 Junior field trip or hike
- 6:00 to 8:00 Overall award
interviews - Chapel. Dr. Monson will inform candidates for the overall
awards when dismissing each category. Candidates should return to the
Chapel at 6:00 pm for additional judging.
Thursday, March 16th
- 9:00 to 12:00 Junior Academy morning session. Professional dress required.
- Behavioral & Social Science - Room 2401 - Proctor: Mr Thompson
- Medicine & Health/ Microbiology - Room 2207 - Proctor: Dr Krakowiak
- Space Science/Physics - Room 2503 -Proctor: Ms Nichols
- Engineering - Room 2504 - Proctor: Mr Turkal
- Botany/ Environmental Science - Room 2403 - Proctor: Dr. Ruehle
- Chemistry - Room 2411 - Proctor: Dr. Hunter
- 1:00 to 3:00 Junior Academy afternoon session. Professional dress required.
- Computer Science - Room 2503 - Proctor: Mr Moix
- Teams - Room 2403 - Proctor - Mr Epperson
- 8:00 to 4:00 - Chapel is open for public viewing of projects
Juniors will attend the session for the
category they expect to enter next year and evaluate 5 presentations.
Forms will be available at a table by the freshwater aquarium.
Give these to your FIRM advisor after spring break. Juniors must
also vist the chapel and evaluate 5 backboards during the other
session. Forms will be available there at that time.
Friday, March 17th
- 10:00 -11:30 - Awards ceremony at First Presbyterian Church. Professional dress required.
- Immediately after the close of the ceremony, all seniors
qualifying for the state science fair will meet in room 2205 for a
required paperwork session. Seniors are not dismissed for spring break
until they have completed their paperwork and are ready to enter the
state fair.
