Margaret ‘Lola’ Warren is an art instructor at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts. Lola teaches a variety of 3-Dimensional Art classes at ASMSA including Ceramics I (hand-building) and Ceramics II (wheel), Alternative Ceramic Firing Techniques, 3D Design, Senior Portfolio and Introduction to Fused Glass.
Before becoming a full-time faculty member at ASMSA, Lola taught as an adjunct art professor at National Park College, Henderson State University and the University of Central Arkansas.
Lola received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo., and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Calif. As a lifelong learner, she has continued her education by taking workshops all over the United States including the Penland School of Craft, the Appalachian Center for Craft, Bullseye Glass Company and the Eureka Springs School of the Arts. Lola currently teaches evening and weekend workshops in glass fusing and glass casting at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts in Little Rock, Ark.
Lola is the original designer and creator of the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame award statuary from its inauguration in 2015 until 2022. Her work is published in art books such as the Best of Wildlife Artists Publications and 2008, 2010 and 2012 Art Buzz Collections. Although she largely sells her work online, it can currently be found in downtown Hot Springs at the Collective Arts Gallery.
Lola lives in Hot Springs, Ark., and spends much of her ‘free time’ in her home ceramics and glass studio. When she is not in an art studio somewhere, she can be found spending time with her family, biking or playing ball with Rio, her three-year-old Australian shepherd.
