Corey Alderdice, director of the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, is a member of Leadership Arkansas Class X.
The annual program brings together professionals from a variety of industries throughout the state to take a comprehensive view of the economic and political challenges that face Arkansas. It allows the professionals to develop their leadership abilities while receiving first-hand knowledge of the challenges and opportunities local communities provide and their impact on the state.
Alderdice is one of 57 members selected for the 10th anniversary class of the program. Sessions will be held around the state, allowing the group to visit various regions. Session topics will cover such topics as Arkansas’ workforce, energy and environmental issues, education, the government and military, and technology and innovation. They will be held in Heber Springs, Fort Smith, Little Rock, Jacksonville, El Dorado, West Memphis, Blytheville, Springdale and Bentonville.
The Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and the Associated Industries of Arkansas sponsor the program. The program was introduced in 2005.
Alderdice said the program is a good opportunity to share ASMSA’s role in education not only in Hot Springs but throughout the state.
“ASMSA enjoys exceptional support from the Hot Springs community, but it's important to remember we are an institution that supports students, educators, and communities across Arkansas,” Alderdice said. “The invitation to participate in Class X of Leadership Arkansas is a tremendous opportunity to build personal and institutional relationships with established and emerging leaders from all corners of the state.”
