ASMSA director, alumnus selected for AMP Future 50

Corey Alderdice, director of the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, was selected for the inaugural Arkansas Money & Politics Future 50.

The Future 50 is a list of the state’s business and political leaders poised to shape the future of Arkansas’ economic, political and cultural engines, according to the magazine.

AMP’s Future 50 is helping shape the future of Arkansas today, and we suspect they’ll be doing so for a long time,” the introduction to the list said. The inaugural list was determined through nominations submitted by AMP readers.

“It’s my honor to continue to lead our community of learning and to be recognized among the inaugural Future 50 for the state of Arkansas,” Alderdice said. “ASMSA is an investment in the future of our state by cultivating the talents and interests of young Arkansans. Our students are encouraged even at this early stage to envision themselves as Arkansas’ next generation of leaders and innovators.”

One of those young innovators was also recognized on the Future 50 list. Canon Reeves, a member of ASMSA’s Class of 2016, was recognized as CEO and co-founder of MORE Technologies. The company is working to make robotics and STEM education accessible for younger students. It has shipped MOREbots to students in more than 23 countries and 25 states, the article said.

“I was honored to be selected for the Future 50 list alongside Director Alderdice,” Reeves said. “We're building some incredible things at MORE Technologies, and it feels great to receive such a recognition. I have no doubt in my mind that I would not be where I am today if it weren't for the profound impact ASMSA had on me.”
