ASMSA student musicians earn All-Region Concert Band recognition

Several Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts students recently earned recognition from the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association.

Seven students placed in the ASBOA Region II All-Region Concert Band on Jan. 22 at Lake Hamilton High School in Royal. It was the second year in a row where every ASMSA student musician who auditioned for the band earned a place in the Region II All-Region Concert Band.

Students who earned Region II All-Region Concert Band recognition were:

  • Eliana Adamos, a junior from Harrison, flute, first band, fourth chair;
  • Haley Tripp, a junior from Nashville, flute, first band, seventh chair;
  • Mai Nobles, a senior from Hot Springs, clarinet, first band, first chair. It was Nobles’ second year in a row to earn first chair, first band in the All-Region Concert Band;
  • Jasmine Conn, a senior from Van Buren, bassoon, first band, third chair;
  • Nathan Robinson, a senior from Hot Springs Village, alto saxophone, first band, fifth chair;
  • Kacie Koen, a junior from Benton, tenor saxophone, second band, first chair; and
  • Courtland Callis, a junior from Alexander, horn, first band, third chair.

Each of the students who earned a first-band placement were eligible to audition for All-State Band in February. Nobles qualified for the All-State Symphonic Band as 14th chair clarinet. The All-State Symphonic Band performance was held in February in Hot Springs. It was Nobles’ third year in a row to earn All-State honors.
