Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts will host an open house for prospective students and their families from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 3 at the campus in downtown Hot Springs. Tours of the school will be available every half hour beginning at 9 a.m. Students will have the opportunity to talk to current students and teachers. The ASMSA Community Leaders (pictured above) will be conducting the tours and available to answer questions.
ASMSA is one of 13 public residential high schools specializing in the education of juniors and seniors with an advanced aptitude for science and math. Enrollment is open to all Arkansas students who meet the academic criteria. Room, board and tuition are free. Interested students should apply during their sophomore year.
Feb. 1 is the priority deadline to apply for the 2012-2013 school year and March 15 is the final deadline. Interview weekend will be March 31. Students will be notified of acceptance in April with orientation for new students on April 28.
Students entering school in the fall of 2012 will live in the new residence halls currently under construction.
